Do you ever feel like your thoughts are just out of control? That they are swirling around in your head and you can't seem to shut them off? If so, you're not alone. Thoughts can be incredibly powerful things. They can affect our emotional state, and even our physical health. In this blog post, we will explore the importance of self-awareness and how our thoughts play a role in both our emotional and physical state.

One way thoughts can impact us is by causing anxiety. When we are constantly thinking about things that worry us, it can lead to a feeling of unease or even panic. This can have a ripple effect on our physical health, as anxiety can lead to symptoms such as a racing heart, sweating, and difficulty breathing. It's important to be aware of the thoughts that are causing you anxiety so that you can address them head-on.

Thoughts can also affect our physical health in other ways. For example, if we are constantly worrying about something, it can lead to stress. And we all know that too much stress can have a negative impact on our health, from causing headaches and insomnia, to wreaking havoc on our immune system. So again, it's important to be aware of the thoughts that are causing you stress, and to find ways to managing that stress.

Let's take the following example:

A: You are dealing with a difficult situation at work.

B: This situation is leading to Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Feelings of Isolation, Feelings of Hopelessness, Panic Attacks, etc.

C: These feelings start to lead to Chest Pains, Indigestion, Insomnia, Headaches, Lightheadedness, Dizzy Spells, etc.

D: You start to think, I am going to have a heart attack or a stroke.

Let's take it to the next level. Now you go further in your thought process and start thinking what if you do have a heart attack or stroke and die? What will happen to you in the afterlife? What will happen to your children? What will happen to all the unfinished tasks? and it goes on and on.

An event such as the one above can cause your thoughts to run away. Leading to emotional, physical, and behavioural impacts. With health anxiety as the primary contributing factor.

Overall, having our thoughts influence our emotional and physical state is a very important thing. It's important to be aware of the thoughts that we are thinking, and to understand how they might be affecting us. If you find yourself feeling anxious or stressed, take a moment to check in with your thoughts and see if there is anything you can do to change them. Remember, thoughts are powerful things, so let's make sure we are using that power for good. Thanks for reading!
